Traditional Tae Kwon Do

We are practising traditional Tae Kwon Do. The Tae Kwon Do mantained by Bomsa Boo Young Shin is a vital practise for exercising a philosophy. The Hwa Rang Tae Kwon Do goes for the "Do". During the history of martial arts, the korean martial arts have stressed and developed methods to reach the "Do". The different korean martial arts like Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, Subak or Taykon each have developed different trainingmethods - vital and mental - to get closer to the "Do".

In that respect (getting the "Do") our Tae Kwon Do is different from the actual mainstream Tae Kwon Do, which has lost all connections to mental training and hence does not head towards reaching the "Do". Instead mainstream Tae Kwon Do is developing vital capabilities only.

We combine vital trainig and mental training (breathing exercises, Zen training) in order to get more and more optimised and to develop as a whole, in other words trying to get closer to "Do". Beside that, this training enforces human health as a byproduct.

The meaning of traditional Tae Kwon Do is symbolicly extracted and shown in the Tae Kwon Do flag Tae Guk Ki

Traditional traingsmethods differ from mainstream Tae Kwon Do in severeal areas. The stands, resp. positions are ececuted deeper. The ability to control balance and move weight are key elements. Especially the ability to keep balance and move the weight results in high impact techniques.

Traditional Tae Kwon Do does not try to impact via pure violence. Instead the traditional techniques are influencing and disturbing the human energycirkulation. The traditional techniques are hitting well defined energyspots on a human body. This are the same points used in Traditional Chinese Medicine in order to cure deseases.
